General Information About Contests

Aditya|April 18, 2026

Solvefire.net is a math olympiad-focused competition platform for anyone who enjoys challenging math problems. We host weekly contests where users can compete, improve their skills, and track their progress on a global leaderboard.

The platform, inspired by Codeforces, follows a structured rating-based system adapted for competitive mathematics. Problems range from AMC 8 to USAMO level, offering something for both casual problem solvers and experienced, motivated competitors.

There are five levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond.

Here are the corresponding difficulty levels:

Bronze — AMC 8

Silver — AMC 10/12

Gold — AIME

Platinum — USAJMO P1/P2

Diamond — USAMO P2/P3

More information about the ranking system can be found here:

https://www.solvefire.net/blog/SolveFireRanking

Note that Platinum and Diamond are hosted bi-weekly, whereas other levels are weekly.

Competitions activate on Friday at 6 PM PDT and end on Sunday at 6 PM PDT. Users can start their own personal one-hour timer within that time period and complete the contest.

Solutions to the contest problems are available on the contest page after the contest ends. Scores are updated a few days after the competition concludes.

As of now, there is no way to move down levels due to poor performance.

Problems of the Day (POTD) and Problems of the Week (POTW) are active from Monday through Friday. Solving the POTD awards 10 points, and solving the POTW awards 50 points. Incorrect submissions do not result in any point deductions. Note that users in the Platinum and Diamond level dont recieve points from these.

Past contests and POTD/POTW problems can be viewed in the “Problem Set” for practice (these do not award any points).

The Community Chat feature allows users to communicate with developers and other users on the website.

We rely on the honor system to prevent cheating, so please ensure fair participation to keep the website enjoyable for everyone. Specifics about our honor code can be found here:

Any violations of this code will result in an immediate ban.

Higher levels require handwritten submissions, so cheating will be more easily detected in those levels.
